I don't seem to have any matches but I'm sure x ticked me?
Every company offers a different matching procedure. With Click the process is very stringent and is done by the host who operated the event on the following day. You can always call us to check if a particular person has ticked you. With other companies you may have to wait for everyone who attended the event to go online and tick who they would like to match with before you can see your matches. If in doubt it is best to ask the host operating the event on the night.
-
I got few or no ticks/matches. How many do people normally get?
The number is very variable for everyone who attends. None of the companies who operate Speed Dates will tell you how many ticks you received so you may well have been ticked by several people that were attracted to you but you were not attracted to them. For a match you both have to tick each other.

How do Mix & Mingle nights work?
Mix and mingle nights suit people who are on their own with mainly married friends and want to meet new friends to socialize with, or people who find it difficult to approach and chat to strangers, or those who are shy and find events like speed dating too intimidating. Your Click Singles host will greet everybody introducing them to others as they arrive. People are sat in groups of 4 to6 and given a light quiz, short game / icebreaker which helps them to converse in the group for 10 to 15 minutes. The host then moves them all to different tables so that each person sits in a new group. Every person is moved 5 to 6 times so that everyone gets the opportunity to meet new friends and potential partners.

How do Dinner Parties work?
Dinner Parties are generally tables of eight to ten guests at each table. The numbers vary from as little as 12 to as many as 200. Men are ask to move places after each course generally this will be three different seats during an event. At the larger events the meal is followed by entertainment so the guests are given dance cards and men complete these each time they move. The first six dances are slow and the men find the ladies written on their dance cards. Many ladies and gentlemen come to these events as their initial introduction to Click Singles, as they are highly sociable and a great way to meet friends and potential partners.

What happens when I arrive at a Speed Dating event?
When you arrive you will see two Click Singles hosts wearing Click Singles badges. They will sign you in, give you your matching sheet, a name badge and a pen, and then invite you to have a drink at the bar. Once everyone has arrived the Click Singles host will explain how speed dating works and answer any questions. Then the dating begins. Usually women will stay seated while the men rotate every three minutes then the host will announce it is time for the men to move. You will normally get around twenty dates - sometimes a few more, sometimes a few less. We never run more than thirty dates as speed dating is quite tiring and we guarantee a minimum of eight dates.
-
Is three minutes per date long enough?
Three minutes can seem like a very long time with someone you don't like. However three minutes is also a minimum. At our smaller events we generally extend the dates to four or five minutes. However in our experience three minutes is long enough to decide whether you're prepared to invest a couple of hours in a follow-up date.

Most speed daters are professionals who want to meet more people. They're generally normal, attractive people who just aren't meeting people through their work or immediate circle of friends.

Is it a good idea to prepare a list of questions to ask people?
It's a good idea to have a few questions up your sleeve in case you run out of things to say. However it's a very bad idea to have a scripted list of questions as it kills the spontaneity of a three-minute date.
-
I didn't get any matches last time. Do you have any tips to improve my chances?
Make sure you're well groomed and stylishly dressed, treat all your dates with respect and be yourself.

My credit card has been rejected by your payment system. Why?
There may be a number of reasons why your card has not been accepted. These include:
- You may simply have entered an invalid card number. The most likely reasons for this are that you have mistyped the card number or missed some of the digits, or you have not entered the card number we need. Please try again, checking your typing carefully.
- The card type you have specified (e.g. Visa, Debit) does not appear to match the card number supplied. Please go back and check that the card type selected is correct.
- Your bank has declined to authorize payment for this amount.
- Your card may be of the type that requires the cardholder to be present and is therefore not suitable for telephone/Internet bookings.
- We regret that we are currently unable to accept American Express cards.
-
